Today the official Niu Heimar website was launched. Niu Heimar is a band formed by four young musicians from the south of the Netherlands (Limburg) in the summer of 2008. Together they write and play the music they always wanted to play and which can best be discribed as progressive power metal with folk metal influences. At the moment the band is working very hard on their songs and organisation so this website is still under construction (isn't it always). In Norse cosmology the World Tree Yggdrasil unifies nine worlds (Old Norse: níu heimar), that represent all that exists within the infinite span of Ginnungagap. Mapping the Nine worlds escapes precision because the Poetic Edda often alludes vaguely, and the Prose Edda may be influenced by medieval Christian cosmology.
